Season Greetings to one and all....

So that's it another year over, it must be an age thing but they do seem to me to be going by quicker each time. Not the best of years weather wise for our sport with it being blustery on most weekends. It is amazing how many times the wind blew at the weekend only to become calm during the week when most of us we at work. This is always pointed out to us by our, err, more senior members who seem to glorify in telling you that "Thursday and Friday were just fantastic to fly on with no wind at all" whilst you are trying to stop your machine from being blow off the start-up tables. The coming year has got to be better, or will the year be calm but raining we shall see, we shall see.

I am pleased to report that the new committee have held their first meeting with great success. All of the new post holders are committed to their respective positions and are approaching the tasks with great gusto.

We can now confirm that the sum of £300 is to be donated to the Kent Air Ambulance service. this was raised from the proceeds of the raffle held at during the scale day in September. Once again, on behalf of EMHC, I would like to thank all those traders who gave so generously. We are already planning ways to increase the value of the money raised at the 2012 Scale Day.

Mention of the scale day leads me on nicely to be able to announce the date for 2012. The scale day is to be held on Sunday 9th September and will follow the format which has proved so successful over the last few years. The committee also set the dates for the two club only fun-days, these will be held on 15 April and 19 August. Please make a note of these dates in your diary and check the Events page which has been updated, and will continue to be as dates are announced.

All club members should have received their renewal nonfictions by now. As I write this there is just two weeks remaining for you to get your renewal to the secretary. If you have not renewed by 1st January and you apply after that date you will have to pay the £60 joining fee. This will be strictly enforced as it has over the past few years. The code on the gate will be changed on 1st January, the new code will be sent to you with your new membership card. It is known that some new cards have been issued without the new code, this is being addressed.

So finally, the committee would like to offer all of the seasons greetings to the membership new and old and hope that all you landings in 2012 are soft ones.
